THE RUNWAY OF AN UPGRADE AIRSTRIP IN BABO HAS BEEN DEVELOPED IN YEAR 2003
Babo is a small city island in the central Papua. A place where you can find some tracks of the past World War II history. The unexplosive bombs are still sleeping underground but they can blast some time. It is a sadness to see the people there the unlucky people, they lived poorly but their face are full with smile which touched everyone's heart. How a simply way to smile, a sincere smile which I believe not all the people in big city can do it.
COLD SOFT DRINK FIRST AFTER TWELVE HOURS FLIGHT
When I was assigned to travel to Babo I prepared my consumables for three months, so I brought not only my travel bag also one box for daily consumables. What to do I had to travel three times changing the airplane where the last one by helicopter. We started flying from Jakarta at 10.45pm transited in Bali and arrived in Timika at 7 am by Garuda Airways boeing 747-400. In Timika at 8 am we traveled to Kaimana by beechcraft a small airplane for only 15 passangers.
IN THE BEECHRAFT 1900MD BEFORE TAKING OFF
Kaimana is a small town but beautiful place, the sky and the sea make us always feel fresh. After one hour flight we arrived at Kaimana at 9am. We had to wait in queue for chopper briefing and for a tight screening. It took one hour, all bags were open by the custom and clearance officers, they noted our body weight with the scale not only the bags.
