I Found Myself: SINGAPORE the Boring City

SINGAPORE BEFORE THE SUNSET

SINGAPORE is small country city. It is one of the Asian countries which is almost clean and discipline. First time I visited Singapore was in 1998, where we could find some discipline polices in blue uniform (well, I am not sure what we called) everywhere who always watched the people to fine them when they were found such as indisciplinarians.

Singapore at that time was famous as a fine city. We could not cross the street unless at zebra cross with traffic light, no litter please, no smoking, no gum etc.

It takes about one and half hour by plane to go there from Jakarta, or half to one hour by boat via Batam island. I got a chance to visited Singapore again in 2007 for almost six months then after I visited only one week in a month until year 2008. The city is now different, they are many people and no more polices with blue uniform that watch us.

I had chances to stay in apartment or in hotel, such as Far East Apartment, Elizabeth Hotel, Furama Hotel, Orchard Parade Hotel and Orchard Hotel.

What makes Singapore boring ?
For me to work in Singapore with a heavy work load is perfect, but it is not a place for relax it is good for shopping. Boring if not enough money in pocket, people is not friendly like in Indonesia, they do not care of other people. Great sale is really nice for we could buy the international top branded materials cheaper than usual. Maybe we can re-sale in Jakarta as the price in Jakarta can be twice for the same items due to importation tax.
